Product Description

The aim of suctioning is to remove pulmonary secretions to maintain patient’s airway and thus promote effective ventilation and oxygenation.

Aims

• To provide an overview of the principles of safe suctioning/in the acutely/ critically ill patient

• Identify the indications for suctioning
• Identify and discuss the necessary equipment and routes available
• Discuss suctioning technique
• Identify common complications
