Health and Safety

The aim of Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification is to provide candidates with knowledge of the basic Health and Safety practices that are essential in the workplace. This course provides delegates with an understanding of current health and safety legislation and provides practical options on how best to manage health and safety effectively in the workplace.

The qualification is applicable for any private or public sector working environment and provides employees with an awareness of their own safety, as well as the safety of customers, contractors and members of the public.

According to HSE “Over 200 people are killed each year in accidents at work and over one million people are injured. This qualification is aimed at those who work in an environment where coming into contact with such substances is likely. This includes workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments.
It provides learners with the knowledge and skills to recognise the risks associated with hazardous substances and how to control them.

All individuals involved with fire safety must receive all the required information and training to deal with fire safety issues. The provision of these fire safety qualifications will assist organisations in meeting their legal obligations as well as in providing a much safer working environment for all of their employees.

The manual handling course is aimed at all levels of employees who may undertake manual handling operations in the workplace.

The Substance Misuse Awareness is aimed at learners looking for an introductory level qualification in substance misuse. Substance misuse has got a huge effect on our society as a whole, as well as the physical effects drugs/alcohol have on the individual.
